The IGNITE Incubation Programme on Sustainable Business Solutions aims to support and incubate enterprises developing innovative solutions that address environmental challenges while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities. The programme will focus on key sectors including green manufacturing, promoting energy-efficient, low-carbon and resource-optimised production processes; recycling and upcycling, enabling the transformation of agricultural, industrial and consumer waste into value-added products; and clean technologies, encompassing renewable energy, water and wastewater management, air quality improvement and climate-resilient innovations.
The programme will also promote the responsible utilisation of local and indigenous resources by encouraging enterprises to leverage regional raw materials, traditional knowledge and local expertise to develop scalable, market-ready and environmentally sustainable products and services. These focus areas have been identified to address emerging environmental and developmental challenges arising from rapid urbanisation, changing consumption patterns and inadequate waste management systems. Through this integrated approach, the programme seeks to contribute to environmental conservation, resource efficiency, climate resilience, inclusive economic growth and sustainable industrial development.
