Accounts and Admin Assistant

IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, a leading Technology Business Incubator in the country set up under the aegis of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) is looking to hire for the position of Associate- Accounts & Administration to support the Finance & Administration functions with day-to-day operations.

The successful candidate will possess time management skills, and experience working successfully in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities will include maintaining and completing files and records as needed, assisting with accounts payable and receivable duties, and providing general administrative support to the management team and accounting department personnel. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong attention to detail. Applicants with 1-2 years of experience and familiarity in a similar role are strongly encouraged to apply.

Requisite & Desirable Skills & Capabilities:

  • Performing basic office tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, processing mail, filing, etc.
  • Recording information, processing, and filing forms.
  • Preparing checks, deposits, budgets, and financial reports.
  • Abiding by all company procedures and accounting principles.
  • Assume responsibility for maintenance of office equipment such as computers, copy machines, etc.
  • Responding appropriately to the vendor, client, and internal requests.
  • Assist in the execution of various in-house & external events.
  • Carries out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning, etc.
  • Makes travel arrangements for senior staff such as booking flights, cars, and hotel or restaurant reservations.

Necessary Skills:

  • Comfortable working with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and familiarity with Tally ERP 9 software (latest version).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English a must.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task would be an asset.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)
  • Overall 1-2 years experience with a minimum 1 year in Accounting and Tally – ERP 9.0

Compensation: Will be commensurate with the qualification and experience of the candidate.

Location: Kolkata

Tenure: It is a contractual position for an initial period of two years and renewable thereafter subject to performance and the organization’s requirements.
