Brief Profile: Asim Kumar Jana completed his B.E.Tel.E from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in the year 1988. He was awarded an M.Prod.E. and MBA degree from the same University in the year 1995 and 2000 respectively. He has professional experience of around 10 years in Industry before switching over to Academics in the Year 2000. During his industry days, he worked as “R & D” Engineer in Sonodyne Television Co. Ltd., as “Curator-B” in National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India and finally as “Technical Officer” in the West Bengal Financial Corporation, a State PSU under the Govt. of West Bengal. Since January 2000, he was with Haldia Institute of Technology in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. He retired from the service of HIT, Haldia on March 31, 2025 after a service period of more than 25 years as a member of faculty in the department as Associate Professor. He has also completed an Executive Education Program on Education Leaders’ Program (EDLEAP Cohort 03) of 9 months duration from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) during July 2023 - March 2024 before retirement. His research interests include Microprocessors and Microcontrollers, Digital Signal Processors, Automation, Mechatronics & Robotics and Embedded Systems. At present he is actively engaged for the Continuing Education in the area of Embedded Systems, CNC Machining and Additive Manufacturing & other related domains. He has got a number of research publications to his credit that include both Journal & Conference publications.
