ROLE SUMMARY:

The Manager – IT is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all technology infrastructure, digital platforms, and IT services within the startup incubator. The role ensures seamless functioning of IT systems for internal teams, mentors, and incubated startups. This includes overseeing hardware, networks, cybersecurity, digital tools, co-working tech facilities, and IT support services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. IT Infrastructure & Operations
  • Manage end-to-end IT infrastructure: servers, networks, Wi-Fi, firewalls, cloud services, and hardware assets.
  • Ensure high availability of internet, access control systems, CCTV, and communication devices.
  • Implement IT policies, SLAs, and best practices suitable for a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Hosting website, tools etc
  1. IT Support & Service Management
  • Provide Tier-1 and Tier-2 technical support to employees, startups, mentors, and visitors.
  • Maintain an IT helpdesk system and ensure quick resolution of tickets.
  • Manage procurement, inventory, AMC contracts, and vendor relationships.
  • Automation of incubation workflow – defining scope, gathering requirements from the team, explaining it to vendor, testing and deployment of tools
  1. Cybersecurity & Data Governance
  • Develop and enforce data security protocols, device management policies, and user access controls.
  • Regularly monitor systems for vulnerabilities and coordinate audits.
  • Report, track bugs and test fixes
  • Implement backup systems, disaster recovery plans, and cybersecurity awareness.
  1. Digital Platform Management
  • Manage incubator management systems/software (CRM, startup portfolio tracking, incubation platforms).
  • Oversee website, email systems, cloud collaboration tools (Google Workspace/Office 365).
  • Support deployment of digital tools for events, virtual incubation, and learning platforms.
  1. Technology for Startups
  • Provide basic tech advisory or connect startups with relevant IT mentors/partners.
  • Support early-stage startups in using shared lab/tech resources (e.g., prototyping labs, IoT labs).
  • Evaluate tech needs of startups and integrate new tools into the incubator ecosystem.
  1. Project & Vendor Management
  • Coordinate with external IT vendors, service providers, and technology partners.
  • Manage IT budgets, annual procurement plans, and contract negotiations.
  • Ensure smooth delivery of tech-enabled programs, hackathons, and events.
  1. Innovation & Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to automate operations and enhance digital workflows.
  • Introduce new tools for communication, monitoring, remote work, and data analytics.
  • Keep the incubator updated on emerging technologies relevant to startups.

 ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, or equivalent.
  • Master’s degree or certifications (CCNA, AWS, ITIL, cybersecurity) preferred.
