ROLE SUMMARY:

The Head – CSR will lead the organization’s strategy, outreach and execution for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and philanthropic partnerships, with a focus on entrepreneurship, livelihoods and innovation-led social impact. The role will be responsible for strategic planning, marketing and positioning of IIMCIP’s CSR offerings, end-to-end design and implementation of CSR projects, and relationship management with corporate CSR teams, domestic and international foundations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and periodically update a comprehensive CSR strategy for IIMCIP aligned with the organization’s mission, sectoral priorities and national CSR/regulatory landscape.
  • Identify, conceptualize and design CSR-aligned programmes in areas such as rural and urban entrepreneurship, incubation and acceleration, livelihoods, women-led enterprises, skilling and innovation for social impact.
  • Lead business development and fundraising efforts with corporate CSR teams, domestic and international foundations, family offices and high-net-worth donors to build a strong multi-year partnership pipeline.
  • Prepare high-quality concept notes, proposals, presentations, budgets and impact frameworks tailored to the priorities of different CSR and philanthropic partners.
  • Build and nurture senior-level relationships with CSR heads, foundation leaders and ecosystem stakeholders to position IIMCIP as a preferred implementing and knowledge partner.
  • Work closely with internal programme, incubation and finance teams to design implementable projects, define KPIs, and ensure operational readiness for proposed CSR engagements.
  • Oversee timely and high-quality execution of CSR projects, ensuring adherence to partner commitments, budgets, timelines and compliance norms.
  • Guide the design of robust monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) frameworks, ensuring impact data and stories are systematically captured across projects.
  • Lead the preparation of donor reports, impact reports and communication collaterals showcasing outcomes, case studies and insights from CSR projects.
  • Support brand-building and marketing of IIMCIP’s CSR initiatives through events, roundtables, digital campaigns, thought leadership and participation in sector forums.
  • Track policy developments, CSR trends and thematic priorities of key funders to proactively shape new offerings and partnership models.
  • Mentor and manage a small CSR and partnerships team, and coordinate with regional project leads to ensure strong field-level delivery and visibility for partners.

 REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Excellent proposal-writing, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage credibly with CXO-level stakeholders and boards.
  • Strong strategic planning, negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities, with comfort in working across multi-location programme teams.
  • High level of comfort with MS Office and digital tools for proposal development, reporting and stakeholder engagement.

 ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION:

  • Essential Educational Qualifications required for this role:
    • Postgraduate degree in Management, Development Studies, Social Work, Economics, Public Policy or related fields from a recognized institution
  • Desirable Qualifications/Certification required for this role:
    • Certifications in fundraising, CSR or social impact management

 EXPERIENCE:

  • Total years of work experience: 10years
  • Years of relevant experience: 8 years of progressive experience in CSR, fundraising, corporate partnerships, foundation engagement or large-scale development programmes, preferably with at least 6 years in a leadership/relationship management role
  • Demonstrated track record of originating, closing and managing CSR or philanthropic partnerships with large corporates and/or reputed domestic and international foundations
  • Strong understanding of the CSR ecosystem in India, Section 135/CSR Rules, key funding trends, regulatory expectations and reporting requirements
  • *Years of work experience after essential qualification: 8 years

 PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:

  • Prior experience working with incubators, social enterprises, livelihoods programmes, or innovation-focused non-profits will be an added advantage.
  • Established network with CSR heads, foundation leaders and ecosystem stakeholders in sectors such as livelihoods, entrepreneurship, skilling and education.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and manage multiple complex partnerships simultaneously.
  • Passion for social impact, inclusive entrepreneurship and ecosystem building, with willingness to travel to project locations and partner offices as required.
