NexConnect Ventures Private limited is a start-up incubated under the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta Innovation Park. It is a social start-up that seeks to empower communities by connecting them with simple technologies to bridge the rural-urban divide. The company comprises of a blend of social science researchers and computer scientists who have come together to bring about a change in how people perceive knowledge dissemination and exchange.

The Company has developed NexConnect – a unified digital teaching-learning platform – that connects senior teachers with young students through interactive online teaching sessions using audio-visual content following curriculums specified by various School Boards. The platform is supported by NexConnect learning analytics app that facilitates the teachers and coordinators who use the NexConnect platform, in point by point assessment of the students, helping them to individually track and monitor each student on a regular basis.

The services offered by the company are Classroom Teaching for School Students (Academic Subjects for classes I to XII catering to School Boards), Vocational Training Beyond School (Spoken English, Soft Skills, Entrepreneurship, Computer Basics) and Counselling By Experts (Counselling students on issues of career, health and entrepreneurship)

NexConnect has received a good response with their rural entrepreneurship development via NexConnect Internet Schools in Burdwan, Bankura, Birbhum, Murshidabad and South 24 Parganas. The Company has provided training to rural artisans through their local hubs at Paschim Midnapur, Purba Midnapur, Bankura and Burdwan.
Currently, it has around 500 students, the start-up has impacted almost 300 beneficiaries other than students and has conducted 1,200+ hours of teaching.
