GiftAbled is a social enterprise in the space of disability. We empower the differently-abled section of the society via multiple interventions such as B2B (Corporate Gifts) made with their support, accessibility to audits & consultancy, corporate training & workshops to meaningfully engage with specially-abled people, CSR projects – skill development and health of specially-abled children and women.
India has over 10 crore specially-abled people. They are the most disadvantaged among the marginalised section of our society. Most of them are dependent on their families or meagre government doles with hardly 1% of them meaningfully employed. The number of persons with disability looking for jobs is way more than the total organised sector jobs in our country. A significant proportion of persons with disability, whether affected by physical or mental challenges live in semi-urban or rural parts of the country. It is neither feasible nor desirable for them to migrate to over-congested cities for opportunities. The problem, GiftAbled is working on is mass Livelihood Generation and Sustenance for the differently-abled section.
All the founders at Giftabled are armed with valuable experience from their careers in the Corporate and Development sector. Prateek Kaul has worked for 15 years primarily in technology and management sector while Prarthana Kaul has worked for 2 years in the Corporate sector and for 12 years in the development sector.
A few years back, during a Corporate community relations event, we realised the lack in awareness about disability and the challenges around it. Hence, we decide to create a level playing field for the specially-abled section of the society so that they too can contribute towards building a productive and inclusive society. Today, we have over 30 clients including some Fortune 500 companies which are mostly based out of West and South India.
In terms of our business, we are primarily focused on B2B Corporate Gifting which has a market size of around $2.1 billion. Our business model basically leverages the differently-abled sections to create a sustainable impact by partnering with over 50 non-governmental organisations across the country who also help us with Product Design & Development, Supply Chain optimisation, Marketing and Cost effective Technology.
At present, GiftAbled is based out of Bangalore but this year we are expanding into markets such as Pune, Mumbai and Kolkata and we will continue to focus on offerings that create impact in the disability space through accessibility solutions, workshops, sign language interpreter services etc
