The Government of Mizoram wanted to encourage the people in the state, especially the youth, to aspire to become successful entrepreneurs, thus helping themselves, their communities, and also contributing to the socio-economic development of Mizoram. With a vision to create a vibrant entrepreneurial eco-system, facilitate nurturing of start-ups and propagate a culture of innovation in Mizoram, the Govt. of Mizoram through the Entrepreneurship Development Scheme (EDS), Mizoram State Entrepreneurship Development & Monitoring Committee (MEDMOC), and Planning & Program Implementation Department has launched a series of Entrepreneurship Development Programs under the brand name “Mizoram Kailawn”.
IIMCIP has been successfully organizing MIZORAM KAILAWN for the last 3 years in association with MEDMOC. 1073 participants responded to the state wide innovation. 1073 participants responded to the state wide innovation hunt, 130 of them were imparted training on entrepreneurship basics and pitching skills through capacity building boot camps and of which 60 most promising startups have been rewarded over the years. Outreach and Awareness Programs were conducted in each district headquarter every year. These programs focused on entrepreneurship awareness as well as call for the application for the business plan competition. The business plan contests were conceived to ignite the spirit of entrepreneurship among the people of Mizoram which would eventually lead to the growth and prosperity in the state.
This year we introduced the MIZORAM KAILWAN ACCELERATOR program, a year long accelerator to support established entrepreneurs in their scaling up journey.
